Adolescent SBIRT

Reducing Substance Use by Young People

Adolescent SBIRT Request for Applications (RFA)

What is Track C?

Participation in the Track C program includes FREE access to the Adolescent SBIRT Instructor’s Toolkit and SBI with Adolescents simulation program including a limited number of licenses for field instructors/preceptors and technical support from the NORC SBIRT Team and Kognito. Simulation access also includes weekly usage reports of faculty/educator, field supervisor/instructor, preceptor, and student use of the simulation program. Users who complete the simulation program will receive two FREE continuing education (CE) credits.

How Long is the Program?

This opportunity will begin Fall 2018 - Spring 2021.

What are the Requirements?

Because the Adolescent SBIRT project is interested in learning how these tools impact education, participants will be asked to administer a pre-training (e.g., beginning of the semester) and post-training survey (e.g., at the end of the semester) to students who receive Adolescent SBIRT education and/or SBI with Adolescents simulation program. These surveys will be provided online by the NORC SBIRT Team and will also include easy to use emails to communicate and remind students to complete these tasks.

Participants are encouraged to implement both the SBI with Adolescent simulation program and educational materials from the Instructor's Toolkit (i.e., Adolescent SBIRT Learner's Guide using the PowerPoint decks). Toolkit materials can be requested from the Adolescent SBIRT Curriculum page - sbirt.webs.com/curriculum.  We hope that participants can incorporate these educational tools as part of required coursework for students as well as train educators, field supervisors/instructors and preceptors.

Who Can Participate?

This opportunity is open to all academic institutions interested in implementing adolescent SBIRT curriculum.
